Sverige kräver snabbare utfasning av farliga kemikalier i konsumentvaror

Sverige tillsammans med sex andra EU-länder har i ett gemensamt brev till kommissionen begärt en snabbare utfasning av farliga ämnen i konsumentvaror med hjälp av the ‘extended generic risk management approach’. I detta brev efterfrågas ett satt datum: Inserting a target year in the regulation itself, by which time consumer products must be free from the most harmful substances, should be a political priority.

Vidare avråder man från att röra till essential use: We caution against any combination of essential use with existing concepts -such as ‘safe use’ or ‘minimal exposure’- which could undermine the core idea of essential use.

Dessutom trycker de på att Mixture assessment factor måste introduceras: The introduction of one or several mixture assessment factors in risk assessment will be a cornerstone to ensure the protection of citizens and future generations.
